What are the newest testing innovations used in the heating season?

IR imaging thermometers and thermal cameras to scan heating units, furnaces and boilers for problems that are shown via increased or decreased temperatures of various parts of equipment.  Since there is now more need for reporting and data transfer, all techs want to have new equipment with either Bluetooth or other wireless communication.

How can these technologies translate into money made?

Thermal inspections and air flow balancing presents more opportunities to get additional revenue from your existing customers. Many HVAC service companies have started using thermal cameras in their programs, which can not only help diagnose equipment related problems but also find heat leaks via missing insulation or faults in air ducts.  

Air flow hoods or balometers present another testing opportunity for companies expanding their service to provide building air flow balancing assessment and corrections.  They also can be used to manage air flow and proved services for indoor comfort in both homes and offices.
