amprobe analog clamp on amp meter
While working with an electrician friend on my house I got the chance to try out his toys, such as the amprobe clamp on amp meter, I asked him why he didnt have a digital model as I had seen them in several catalogs. He replied that due the cold temps we have here in Alaska the analog worked best when out in the cold. As I worked with the meter I found it easy to read. fit well in my hand even with gloves on. And gave consistant good readings. As for me I told my wife I wanted to get me one to have. I found you can also use it to check car cranking systems and because of size it fit my tool box drawer easier than a large battery checker. I highly liked its performance.

Handed down
Hello, im actually writing about my father and his old amprobe. Dad died this past summer and I miss him dearly! He was an e,elctrical lineman and electrition. He taught me at an early age about electricity and circuts and I remember from my earliest memories his trusty AMPROE and how he used it. Since I have been in the HVAC electriacal trades and have owned 2 Amprobe meter (dont rmember themodels) but one was stolen and the one I replaced it with was lost by helper. Whem I replaced it I went with a fluke only because it was available at parts house and could get it taken out of paycheck. However ive always missed my AMPROBE.S and still have the one my dad used for all those years! It still works(needs adjusting, a little off) but its something I cherish and will always keep put up to remind me of the good times and all he taught me! I still, almost dayly need to ask him something electrical related and miss terribly the guidence he always provided. But to end you make great products and I will always have high regard for your products and history. Dont know the model of dads old meter but I have it beside me now and its an old analog amp clamp meter with volts and ohms functions, im guessing it was bought in the late 60's or early 70's and was a present (if I remember correctly) from his employer/ freind for years of service. I will never part with it and am thinking of purchasing a newer model to have a backup.I love tools especially meters and look forward to dealing with you in the future. Great tool for HVAC and electricians
Have many tools in our inventory, this one is very reliable, easy to use and has great features, such as the fused leads. This is a great tool for us old timers that are not used to all the fancy digital tools and still like the use of needle fluctuations. So far, it has not let us down in all different kinds of weather situations. Would recommend this tool to any HVAC techs or electricians.

Best of the best
As an ex electrical contractor I have used Amprobes for years. My favorite over thes years was my trusty oldAmprobe Jr. It offered the ease of use and accuracy of it,s big brother, plus the added advantage of it,s compact size (about half the sise of the others) that made it a welcome addition to my ever present tool pouch.

Clip-on Analog Ammeter
Its been nearly 30 years since I used an AMPROBE clip-on ammeter. But I remember it very well. As I was using it on a very high voltage, high current line, I wanted to be extra careful. But this instrument gave me the feeling that I was safe. That aspect, in my opinion, is very important.

Must Have
It has the most needed ranges for a general use digital multimeter. The 1.5v and 9v battery test under load is very useful. I find auto ranging meters to be annoying. I like being able to select the range I want manually. This was a good buy.
