The Extech RD300 is an easy to use refrigerant leak detector with a heated diode sensor that will detect all CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs refrigerants including R-22, R-134a, R-404a, and R-410a. The RD300 refrigerant leak detector has a sensitivity ranging from 0.25 oz. /year on high to 0.99 oz. /year for low. A technician can easily adjust the sensitivity level by pressing the sensitivity range button on the keypad when trying to locate the exact location of a leak. The green, yellow, red multi-colored LED bars on the keypad indicates the concentration of gases the instrument has detected. When the leak detector has detected refrigerant it will emit both a visual and audible alert. However, a technician can mute the audible alert, if desired. The refrigerant leak detector also has a reset button to reset the meter to the ambient air to pinpoint a leak.
The flexible probe is 18” long and includes a LED light at the end to make it easier to work in areas that are dimly lit. The probe’s LED light can be turned on and off by a button on the keypad. The RD300 is operated with a 9V battery and will automatically shut off after 10 minutes of inactivity. The keypad LOW-BATT light will switch on when the battery is getting low. The instrument also comes with a leak test bottle to ensure the instrument is testing acurately.
