Overview

The TG297 industrial high temp thermal imaging camera is a combination of a non-contact thermometer and infrared imager suitable for accurately targeting potential faults, troubleshooting repairs, and monitoring processes in electrical and mechanical systems. It allows the technician to see the hot and cold spots indicative of potential issues and track them to their source. The Flir non-contact thermal imaging camera has a 30:1 spot ratio allowing the user to conduct measurements from a safe distance, and a bulls-eye laser pointer that can be used to identify the measurement area precisely.

Technicians can examine everything from electrical connections to mechanical breakdowns quickly and accurately with a temperature range from -13° to 1886°F (25°C to 1030°C). Usually, high temperatures appear white in thermal images, but the TG297 has a movable filter that improves the thermal dynamic range. When the filter’s engaged, users can see the color shifts that indicate differences at the highest end of the camera’s temperature range.

Visual and thermal images can be viewed with temperature readings on the bright, 2.4” color display. A technician can also alter the thermal color palette to enhance the details most relevant to their application. The Flir industrial high-temperature infrared camera allows you to select from different color palettes such as iron, rainbow, white hot, black hot, arctic and lava.

The Flir TG297 high temperature thermal camera includes an MSX image enhancement function which can be used to create detailed, clear thermal pictures by selecting key visible elements such as outlines, words, and numbers from the digital image and layering them on top of the thermal infrared image making it easier to identify what you are looking at. This enables the user to accurately pinpoint the source of faults as well as gauge the severity of the problem. Temperature readings can be captured and displayed on both the visual and thermal images.

Up to 50,000 images can be saved to the thermal imaging camera’s 4 GB SD card. Allowing a technician to save before and after pictures documenting the problem and repairs made to a customer. Images can be transferred to a compatible smartphone, tablet or PC via Bluetooth or a USB connection.

The infrared camera is easy to operate with a simple user interface and an ergonomic handle. The IR imager’s compact, durable design features an IP54 rating and the ability to withstand a 2-meter drop test. In addition, the thermal camera is equipped with a bright LED flashlight for seeing into dark places or hard to reach areas. These features makes it easy to handle and transport as well as suitable for challenging industrial environments.

With a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the camera operates for five hours of continual use. The TG297 thermal camera also comes with the world-class Flir 2-10 warranty.
