The Fluke 62 Max Plus is a handheld IR Laser Thermometer for the measurement of surface temperature that features a dual laser, a 12:1 spot ratio, and a temperature range -22 °F to 1202 ° (-30°C to 650°C) with an accuracy of ±1.0°C or ±1.0% of reading (whichever is greater). The Fluke 62 Max Plus digital thermometer is perfect for dealing with any mechanical, automotive, electrical, or HVAC repair or maintenance type jobs. The Fluke 62 Max Plus IR thermometer is small, easy to use, and precise, allowing you can get around compact or tight spaces to measure the temperature of motors, pumps, panels, breakers, transformers, compressors, steam lines, valves, ducts, or other hard to reach areas.

Overview


The Fluke 62 Max Plus infrared thermometer includes dual lasers to ensure precision in your measurements by helping you identify the edges of the measurement area. After taking its reading, the infrared thermometer displays the highest and lowest reading, the difference between them, and the average temperature on a large backlit display. The large LCD screen makes the data easy to read, even in dark areas.

The Fluke Max Plus IR thermometer includes high and low alarms for rapid detection of measurements outside the limits and an adjustable emissivity setting from 0.10 to 1.00.

Every infrared thermometer has a “distance to spot” (D:S) ratio that tells you the diameter of the areas being measured compared to the distance from the target. For example, if your thermometer has a distance-to-spot ratio of 12:1, it measures an approximately one-inch diameter spot when it’s 12 inches from the target.

Why are IR thermometers important? Temperature is often the first indication of potential problems in electrical and mechanical applications. But how can you determine if an electrical panel has a hot spot, a motor is overheating, or an HVAC system is inefficient? The answer is with an infrared (IR) thermometer.
