The Inspector Tools category includes test equipment used by many different professionals but mainly by Home Inspectors. In this category we feature meters for daily use as well as those for special tasks.

You can divide home inspector work into different areas such as electric, building envelope inspections, pest infestation, heating or ac issues, and indoor air quality. We offer testers for each of those groups.

Electrical issues can be looked at by using electrical test kits, voltage contact and non-contact probes, multimeters and clamp meters, circuit breaker finders, and various thermometers. Indoor air quality problems can be verified with use of Hygrometer thermometer, sling psychrometer, laser theremometer, carbon monoxide analyzer, and air quality meters.

When checking the building envelope and its tightness, as well as insulation issues, inspectors use thermal imaging cameras. The thermal cameras are excellent tools to find missing or insufficient insulation in walls, ceilings, or around windows and doors. They also point out malfunctioning breakers or electrical circuits, faulty condenser coils, or leaking air flow ducts.

Did you know you can find pest colonies, such as bee hives, in walls by scanning them with a thermal camera? Bee hives contain thousands of insects in one spot so a place with one in the wall will have a higher temperature. Thus you can use a thermal camera to locate them.
