Ideal Networks used to be a division of Ideal Industries, but since July 2019 it is a separate entity. The company draws on its long experience of design and creation of lan network test equipment and tools. It all started in 2001, when Ideal Industries purchased the LAN test division from Acterna (formelly Wavetek). The broad offer included electronic test equipment to test voice, video and data networks.
Their tradition in innovation includes releasing the very first hand held Cat 5 cable certifier in 1993. Then company progressed to release new versions of cable certifiers such as LanTek II, LanTek III, and just recently LanTek IV, a 3000 MHz- the fastest network cable certifier.
In 2004, the company purchased Trende Communication, and innovative UK manufacturer of ATM, xDSL, SDH/Sonet, Gigabit Ethernet and IP Testing handheld testers. The product range includes: cable verifiers – testers to check on cable integrity including wire map; cable tracing – small handheld tone and probe kits to find a cable or a wire in a bundle; network transmission – cable testing proper connectivity with transmission equipement; network cable certifiers – equipment to certify speed and other parameters of copper cables in data centers; PoE and CCTV testing tools; visual fault locator – to find nicks and cuts in fiber optic cable, power meters for fibre optic cables, OTDRs – sort of certification equipment for fiber networks.
Now, Ideal Networks is a major manufacturer of portable test equipment for both copper and fiber cable, as well as LAN and WAN installations with main locations in US and Europe.
