The Klein Tools VDV501-851 Scout Pro 3 Tester is an inexpensive and ruggedly built tool to locate and test coax, data, and telephone cables. The VDV501-851 Starter Kit makes it easy for professionals or home owners to test and troubleshoot voice, data and video cables. The kit includes an RJ11/12 for voice, RJ45 for data, and even coax F-connector for video/CATV cables.

The VDV501-851 Scout Pro 3 measures cable lengths up to 2000 feet, tests for shield, and performs hub blink testing. The Klein Scout Pro 3 includes 5 LanMap and 5 CoaxMap location remotes to test multiple cable runs in a single step. Extra LanMap and CoaxMap remotes can be purchased for additional identification mapping. The Klein VDV501-851 includes one self-storing Test + Map™ Remote that identifies, test and maps a location in one step.

The Klein Scout Pro 3 extra-large backlit LCD screen is easy to view in all conditions and the simplified interface is user friendly making it even easier to test for open, short, miswire, and split-pair faults. With the Scout Pro 3 Kit you can ensure fast and accurate cable installations each time.

The Klein Tools VDV Scout Pro 3 Tester includes a voltage warning, battery level indicator, and an auto-power off feature to save battery life. You can expect about 50 hours of runtime with the 9V battery.

In addition, you can tone test cables, wire pairs, and individual conductor wires using the Klein Tools VDV501-851 with the Klein Tools Probe-Pro Tracing Probe VDV501-123 (sold separately).
