Overview


Contamination or counterfeit refrigerants in storage cylinders or air conditioning systems can cause a variety of issues that range from increasing energy use, decreasing cooling performance, significantly reducing the operating life of equipment, or injurious equipment failures. The Neutronic Ultima ID refrigerant identifier provides the refrigerant technician with excellent knowledge of refrigerant purity and protection against refrigerant contamination and potential flammability.

The sample inlet located on the back of the Neutronics Ultima ID is where you connect the sample hose allowing the refrigerant sample to flow through the sensor device to be analyzed. The refrigerant identifier provides the user with direct percent by weight concentrations of R-12, R-134a, R-22 and hydrocarbons. This Neutronics Ultima ID is also capable of measuring non-condensable gasses such as air in R-134a samples. As air can be removed from a system it is measured independent of the refrigerant. It is possible to read 100% R-134a plus 5% air. The HVAC refrigerant identifier only considers the weights of the refrigerant and contaminants in the total mixture for R-134a as air contamination in R-12 and R-22 systems cause only minor performance degradation.

The Neutronic HVAC refrigerant identifier control panel serves as the main user interface. The control panel features three soft key buttons that change their function as the instrument changes modes, an LCD graphic display, status indicator lamps, and an alarm horn. Alarm indications are provided to alert of instrument fault conditions or contaminated refrigerant presence. The LCD display gives the user prompts and directions for running a test. After the test, the LCD will display the direct percent by weight concentrations of the sample refrigerant. The on-board printer is available to print on-the-spot analysis reports.

An optional battery pack is available for more added portability.
