Due to the "intrinsically safe" rating, the General Tools CGD900 combustible gas detector is useful in industrial and mining applications as well as locating combustible gas leaks around pipes, tanks, and regulators.
Overview:
In addition to the audible alarm indicating the presence of gas, the CGD900 will display a number from 1 to 9 in the LCD window to indicate the relative size of the leak. The number displayed reflects the concentration of combustible gas sensed. The maximum value is shown on the LED display when the probe's tip is at the source of the leak. This reading makes it easier to pinpoint the source of the leak and decide whether the leak is large enough to be worth plugging. The CGD900 gas leak detector has three levels of sensitivity, LO, NORM, and HI. The gas leak detector's sensor is at the tip of a 17-inch flexible probe, so it is easy to use this intrinsically safe gas leak detector even in tight spaces. The CGD900 is powered by four AA batteries and a red LED on the front panel will light up to indicate a low battery. A leak test vial is included with the General Tools CGD900 to verify that the gas leak detector is functioning properly.
