This economical hand-held cable fault locator uses TDR technology to analyze any metallic cable with at least two conductors or one conductor and a screen. It supports various cable types, including CAT V, twisted pair telecom, Ethernet, and LV power cables. It features a 22' (7 m) minimum range, a 6 km maximum range, a 1.6' (0.5 m) dead zone, and 1% distance resolution and accuracy.

The Schonstedt Lexxi T1660 is an economical hand-held cable fault locator with TDR to analyze any metallic cable with at least two conductors (or one conductor and a screen). Cable types include CAT V, twisted pair telecom, Ethernet, and even LV power cables. The Schondstedt T1660 TDR Cable Fault Locator has a 7m minimum and 6km maximum range, a 0.5m dead zone, and a 1% distance resolution and accuracy to give any technician the tool they need to find faults quickly and accurately.
The Lexxi Cable Fault Locator transmits electrical pulses into a cable, and then measures how long it takes to receive a portion of that pulse energy back from faults or gaps in the cable. It translates this time measurement into distance, providing you with a highly accurate location of short circuits, open circuits, high resistance joints, cable joints, changes in cable type, or the far end of the cable you're testing. The properties of a cable, mainly the insulation between the two conductors, greatly affect the velocity of the pulses traveling along the cable. This velocity is known as the Velocity of Propagation (VOP) or Velocity Factor (PVF).
The VOP is a specification of the speed at which a signal travels through the cable. Different cables have different VOPs. Knowing the VOP of a cable is an important factor when using a TDR for fault finding. The easy-to-use interface features just six control buttons and simple onscreen instructions for setting your preferences.
The large 3. 5 color backlit LCD shows a waveform that lets you assess the type of imperfections found. It also displays transmitted and reflected pulses, distance to fault, VoP, output impedance, display range, gain setting, cursor, and battery status. Powered by either alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries, this Schonstedt Time Domain Reflectometer has a typical life span of 12 hours and includes a user-selectable Power Down time. The Radiodetection Lexxi T1660 is rated IP54 against dust or water ingress and is fully in line with EMC BS/EN 61326-1 standards. The Radiodection T1660 offers innovation and economy while enabling positive productivity growth.
