The Schonstedt GA-92XTd is a portable, retractable magnetic locator designed to locate ferromagnetic objects up to 16 feet underground. When using this Schonstedt metal detector, discovering the location of ferrous materials such as property markers, septic tanks, well casings, valve boxes, pipe joints, survey and property pins, vaults, and steel drums has never been easier. Industries such as public works, water and sewer, utilities, construction and excavation, transportation, and surveying will find this utility locator easy-to-use, accurate, and reliable in locating ferrous objects including iron, cobalt, and nickel.

These Schonstedt magnetic locators have improved membrane switches so the volume and sensitivity controls are easy to adjust with one hand. The control panel also provides the user with both audio and visual indicators to communicate polarity, signal strength, and gain level to quickly and accurately pinpoint a ferrous target and determine its orientation. In addition, the battery level is indicated by a 4 segment bar graph on the control panel.
A unique feature of this Schonstedt locator is its retractable shaft that can be extended for greater accuracy and retracted for storage and ease of carrying. The ferromagnetic locator is fully operational whether it’s completely opened (26”) or retracted (15.5”) as well as any position in between. Locating professionals will love the ease and convenience of bringing this compact, lightweight (2.4lb), and rugged survey pin finder to any job site in its belt mounted holster.
The GA-92XTd battery compartment is now located in the pistol grip handle for easy access and is operated by one 9V battery that will provide about 24 hours of intermittent use.
