A sling psychrometer is a tester that measures temperature and relative humidity, and both readings can be then used to calculate dew point or web bulb temperature. Traditionally, a sling psychrometer was a hand held device with two thermometers, where one of them has a wet cloth wick to facilitate the measurement process. Nowadays though most such instruments are digital meters.

Modern sling psychrometers use sensors for temperature and relative humidity meters. They measure such parameters and calculate wet bulb, and also often store and datalog measurements. Home inspectors use psychrometers to assess the comfort level both indoors and outdoors.
