Overview
While the CMEX2 will perform non-destructive concrete moisture testing according the ASTM F2659 standards, sometimes the need will arise for a different test. The Tramex CMEX II gives you those options by allowing for additional probes to be attached to test wood as well as perform in situ method testing.
The Tramex FIK5.1 includes the HH14TP30 heavy duty pin-type wood probe and allows the CMEX 2 to measure wood moisture content from 7% - 40%.
In situ method testing involves using the included Hygro-i2 Relative Humidity probe and installing it into the slab of concrete you are interested in testing. The Hygro-i2 probes are reusable which creates one of the lowest cost in situ method testing per ASTM F2170 standards.
To perform a subfloor in situ type humidity test to international standards including ASTM F2170 simply drill a hole in the concrete and remove excess dust. Push the hole liner into the hole with the included sleeve insertion tool. Insert the high grade probe into the sleeve and cover with the plastic cap and leave for a standard test period. When taking readings, plug the adapter into the Hygro-i2 probe and instantly read the equilibrium RH temperature and dew point readings.
The kit comes with 12 hole liners, but additional liners can be purchased. Tramex RHHL50 for a quantity of 50 and RHHL100 for a quantity of 100.
The kit also includes the IRT2 infrared surface thermometer for testing surface temperature and can be used with the Hygro-i2 probe to monitor dew point conditions.
