The Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter Plus meter has three ranges of sensitivity: Wood & Timber / Drywall & Roofing / Plaster & Brick making this perfect to test most materials used in building. It has a wide range of reading from 5% -30% on the wood Scale for wood and 0-100 on the comparative scale for other materials. The Tramex meter can detect moisture content in wood and drywall up to 1 ¼ inches deep without having to penetrate the materials being tested. The meter can detect moisture through paint, wall paper, drywall, ceramic tiles, ceiling tiles, roof membranes, and asphalt composition shingles. An audio warning sound, that can be enable or disabled by the user, will be heard in areas of high moisture.

Pest Management Professional (PMP) can use the Tramex MEP moisture meter to determine if existing conditions are conducive to the infestation of termites, carpenter ants, and other wood destroying insects. By detecting areas of excessive moisture, the PMP can locate, control and eradicate these pests. However, inspectors should not focus totally on moisture prone areas, as termites can relocate water to dry areas. The MEP can be useful in helping determine the best placement of above ground bait station and assessing moisture level changes pre- and post- treatment to monitor the situation.

The Tramex MEP is easy to use. Simply push the on button, choose the type of surface to be tested, and place the unit on the surface making sure that the external rubber electrodes make direct contact with the material being tested to ensure better sensitivity and depth of signal penetration.

The moisture content will be shown immediately on the large, clear, easy to read display. The meter can quickly and easily be move from surface to surface to take additional measurements. In addition, the meter has a hold button to “freeze” a reading for areas that are hard to see. The unit will automatically turn off after 2 minutes of inactivity. When turned back on, it will automatically default to the last user setting.
