Triplett CamView IP Pro-D 8073 Security Camera Tester
The Triplett CamView IP Pro D 8073 is a surveillance camera tester for the installation and maintenance of H.264 and H.265 IP cameras, analog testing for up to 8MP cameras including NTSC/PAL, AHD 2.0, CVI 3.0, and HD-TVI 3.0, as well as a RS485 port for PTZ control test. The Triplett 8073 security camera tester will work with ONVIF-enabled IP cameras and includes a built-in DHCP server so you can set up IP cameras before the network is even wired. In addition, the CamView IP Pro-D camera tester has a built-in True RMS multimeter that can measure AC/DC voltage and current, resistance, capacitance, diode and continuity tests. The Triplett 8073 allows you to perform Ethernet and network tests, capture video (snapshot and video recording), playback video, generate video test patterns for monitor checking and perform analog camera testing. The IP security camera tester also can be used to check the microphone/audio source and includes a full flip-out keyboard (QWERTY) to enter information quickly and easily.

ONVIF IP Camera Test
The IP Camera Tester intuitive user interface will guide you through a step-by-step process to test the functionality of IP cameras, whether they are connected to an operating network or directly attached to the tester. These steps include:
Step 1: Testing Ethernet connections, IP settings, DHCP status/request, or providing DHCP service to a directly connected camera.
Step 2: Discovering camera(s) and showing a video snapshot from the currently selected camera.
Step 3: Display live video from the camera and controlling its PTZ functions (if camera is capable of PTZ).
You can adjust the camera’s settings, and record still images or video from the selected camera. You can also check the audio signal from the camera if it is equipped with a microphone. If the camera is directly connected, the surveillance camera tester will provide PoE voltage to power the camera.
Standard Definition Analog Camera Test
The SD analog security camera tester can display the analog video signal input from an attached analog camera or video source with NTSC or PAL format video output. The CamView IP Pro-D surveillance equipment tester can provide 12VDC (not to exceed 2.0 A) to power the camera. If the camera has an RS485 port for PTZ control, the analog camera tester can be used to test that functionality. The tester supports many PTZ protocols.
Analog Video Test Pattern
You can select from several common video test patterns included in the 8073 CamView IP Pro-D and generate standard definition analog (NTSC or PAL) format video output. These can be used to test cabling, video recorders, and monitors. The selected video test pattern is displayed on the 8073 4” screen along with the analog video input signal for simple visual comparison.
PoE and DC Output
The Triplett 8073 will automatically detect if a camera needs to be supplied with PoE when an IP camera is directly connected to Network Port 1 (the blue port). Network Port 2 always accepts PoE power to test the PoE output of installed PSE network devices. You may also use the tester’s 12VDC output jack to power analog cameras.
The Triplett Pro-D security camera tester can be used to check audio signal functionality such as microphones or other audio devices through the tester’s internal speaker.
The IP Camera Tester may be used to perform several Ethernet network test functions, including:
- Network Sniff: Monitors and displays Ethernet MAC IDs and IP addresses broadcast on the network
- Subnet List: Monitors and displays Ethernet MAC IDs and IP addresses broadcast on the selected subnet according to IP and mask settings
- Ping Test: Performs the standard ping messaging response test on the specified destination IP address.
RJ45 Cable Test
The Triplett 8073 CCTV IP HD Tester may be used to check the condition of the RJ45 cable pairs (normal, open, short) and perform a cable length measurement test using TDR.
High Definition Analog Camera Test
The HD analog camera tester will display the analog video signal input from an attached analog camera or video source with AHD or TVI format video output. The 8073 Camera Tester can provide 12VDC to power the camera. If the camera has an RS485 port for PTZ control, the tester can be used to test that functionality.
The CamView IP Pro-D has a built-in Digital Multimeter (DMM). It can measure AC/DC Voltage, AC/DC Current. Resistance, Capacitance, Diode Forward, Voltage, and Circuit Continuity.
It is important to update the Triplett 8073 CamView IP Pro-D to the most recent firmware as IP and analog camera standards are constantly changing. The user manual provides easy to follow steps for this procedure.
Any screen shot, video, or ONVIP IP camera report you have saved on your Triplett surveillance camera tester can be exported to your computer.
