UEi Instrument CO71A Carbon Monoxide Gas Analyzer

The UEi CO71A is a handheld carbon monoxide detector with an electrochemical sensor that measures and alerts you both visually and audibly to the presence of dangerous carbon monoxide (CO) in ambient air. The UEI Test Instruments CO71A monitors carbon monoxide levels (0-999 ppm) in commercial and residential living spaces, warehouse operations, combustion engine repair facilities, public facilities and any other indoor areas where people may work or live.

The LED light on the top of the CO71A carbon monoxide detector illuminates and changes colors based on preset CO threshold levels as indicated below:

GREEN: 2-9 PPM

AMBER: 10-34 PPM

RED: 35 PPM or higher

In addition, the audible alarm will sound if 35 PPM CO (or greater) is detected. The alarm frequency will increase with higher concentrations and when the alarm is sounding, the unit cannot be turned off.

The portable UEi test Instruments UEi CO71A carbon monoxide detector is easy to hold while moving around monitoring CO levels in different areas, but a holster and belt clip are included for hands free monitoring. Other features include a MAX button that will display the highest reading detected while the meter was on and a HOLD button that freezes the display with the CO reading at the time the HOLD button was pressed. The backlit display on the UEi CO71 is useful in dark environments to view readings and will displays BAT when the battery needs to be replaced. The meter does not include an auto shut off so will continue to monitor CO levels until turned off.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) - is a lethal poison produced when certain fuels are burned. It can rapidly accumulate even in areas that might appear well ventilated. Because CO is colorless, tasteless, odorless and non-irritating, it can overcome an exposed person without warning. Recognizing early warning signs of CO poisoning is sometimes difficult because early symptoms of CO exposure (headache, dizziness, nausea) are nonspecific and may be mistaken for symptoms of other illnesses and frequently produce weakness and confusion depriving a person of the ability to seek safety.
