UEi IRT807 Digital Insulation Resistance Tester with 1000V Stress Test 40 MOhm
The UEi IRT807 is a 1000V AC/DC advanced digital insulation resistance tester that offers professionals wider insulation ranges from 50 - 1000V to test pumps, compressors, fans, HVAC and refrigeration equipment for deterioration, faults and current leakage. The IRT807 combines a digital insulation resistance tester and a True RMS multimeter to equip contractors with an advanced test instrument for both damage assessment and preventative maintenance. This advanced insulation resistance tester’s functions include: insulation resistance, Earth-bond resistance, 1000V AC/DC, frequency, capacitance, resistance, PI/DAR test, as well as temperature from -328 to 2462° F.
- Insulation Resistance 2.0G
- Earth-bond resistance 20.00kO
- 1000V AC/DC
- Voltage low-pass filter
- PI/DAR test
- A-hold / Hold
Wire insulation keeps the electrical current flowing along the wire as intended, but starts to age as soon as it’s made. As it ages, its insulating performance deteriorates. Any harsh installation environments, especially those with temperature and or chemical contamination, accelerates this process.
This wear and tear can reduce the electrical resistivity of the insulating materials, thus increasing leakage currents that lead to incidents which may be serious in terms of both safety of people and property as well as the cost of stopping production. Using an accurate insulation resistance tester is essential to ensuring that your insulation is performing as required.
The UEi IRT807 includes a wide range of test voltages, from 50V at the minimum, and climbing incrementally to 100V, 250V, 500V and finally 1000V. As a safety feature, the IRT807 won’t let you conduct a test if the live circuit detection system sees a voltage higher than 30V. In addition, the insulation measurement range on this device is between 0.01 megohms to 2 gigohms. This model features a CAT III safety rating up to 1000 V and a CAT IV rating up to 600 V.
The IRT 807 is equipped with an AC low-pass filter. When this is selected, the meter continues measuring in the selected ac mode, but now the signal diverts through a filter that blocks unwanted frequencies above 1kHz. The low-pass filter can improve measurement performance on composite sine waves that are typically generated by inverters and variable frequency motor drives.
As an additional safety feature, the IRT807 insulation resistance tester automatically discharges capacitive voltage to reduce the likelihood of the user being shocked. The large backlit display as well as the work light is very helpful, making it easier to work and see your reading in dimly lit environments.
While this insulation resistance tester is capable, it is also compact and lightweight at only 1.3 pounds, making it easy to carry around a worksite or to easily fit in your tool bag.
To ensure that the battery lasts as long as possible, the IRT 807 has Auto power off (APO) that will shut down after 10 minute of inactivity. The low-battery indicator will be very helpful in letting you know when it’s time to replace the batteries.
