Overview
The Yellow Jacket flaring tool 60278 is useful when installing mini-split units and R-410A refrigerant. When installing mini-splits, most units use a flaring method to join the refrigerant tubes that connect the outdoor and indoor units. In addition, R-410A is a much higher pressure than older refrigerants, so mini-split manufacturers often require a larger diameter and a deeper flare to produce stronger joints. While the angle of the R-410A flare is the same as a standard flare, it needs more surface allowing more area to seal against the flare fitting. This higher collar flare will work in all systems, not just R-410A.

The Yellow Jacket 60278 flaring tool is specifically designed for R-410A and features a built-in height stop that helps take the guesswork out of the flare's diameter, helping meet r-410A larger flaring requirements without the guesswork. The flaring tool also features a self-centering yoke that grips without marring or constricting the tube.
The Yellow Jacket 60278 is easy to use with just four basic steps to produce a burnished flare seal perfect for use with R-410A refrigerants and mini-split air conditioners.
